Your park bag is one of the most important parts of your trip. Whether you're traveling solo, with a family, riding rides, or shopping, I'm breaking down the best bag for each type of traveler! Just make sure you follow my only rule: ALL BAGS MUST ZIP!
For the Family Traveling Together: Full-Size Backpack
Invest in a great sturdy backpack. I have one from Thirty-One that I bought YEARS ago to use as a park bag, and still use it on every trip. (And yes, that's my maiden name embroidered on it! Told you I've had it for years!) This bag has two large zipper pockets to keep things organized, a smaller zipper pocket (great for snacks), two side pockets for water bottles, an interior zipper pouch, and the world's most comfortable shoulder straps. There's plenty of space to keep everyone's things organized and protected.
For the Solo (or Couple) Adult WDW Traveler(s): Mini Backpack
When I'm traveling through Walt Disney World either alone or with my husband, my Loungefly is my bag of choice. These hold just what I need them to: sunglasses, ears (on a ride), a small wallet or 2, and a few other extras. Plus, the prints on these are the absolute cutest!
For the Solo Adult WDW Traveler: Large Crossbody Purse
I love a crossbody purse when I'm traveling alone. When at Disney, it's always my Disney Dooney & Bourke crossbody bag. This fits everything I need it to when I'm traveling alone, plus I have plenty of space for ears and sunglasses inside when I decide to hop on a ride. I also like the security of a crossbody when I'm traveling alone, so that I can keep a closer eye on my belongings!
For the Universal Orlando Resort Traveler: Fanny Pack
It's time to bring back the fanny pack! You can make fun of me ALL you want, but this is the best option when traveling to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. These parks have way more intense rides than you'll find at Walt Disney World, and for MOST of them, you'll be fine with carrying your necessities along with you. (WDW rides will let you carry just about any kind of bag on...that isn't the case at UOR!) There are a few exceptions to the fanny pack rule. The most intense rides (Rip Ride Rock Rockit, The Incredible Hulk Coaster) have an airport-like screening to make sure that there are absolutely NO loose items that can be lost. You WILL have to utilize the complimentary lockers there for your fanny packs, wallets, etc. or leave them with a non-rider in your party.
For EVERYONE: Small Card Wallet with Zipper
Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE who carries a wallet needs to have one of these with them. I have a small Vera Bradley card wallet/change purse (a Hufflepuff one, no less!) that I use no matter which park I'm in. I love this when I'm traveling for a few reasons:
Did your favorite park bag make the list? Tell me in the comments! Later this week, I'll be sharing what exactly goes INTO my park bags, so stay tuned!
