Hurricane Ian is impacting Central Florida in a big way. Keep reading for the most recent updates to Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, and Orlando International Airport.

Walt Disney World
Statement "Given the latest projections for Hurricane Ian, Walt Disney World theme parks and water parks will be closed on Wednesday, Sept. 28 and Thursday, Sept. 29." Parks Walt Disney World will temporarily close all parks, water parks, and miniature golf on Wednesday, September 28th and Thursday, September 29th. Partially used multi-day theme park tickets with a usage window impacted by Hurricane Ian related park closure will automatically be extended to use the remaining entitlements through any date through September 30, 2023. Walt Disney World Resort Hotels For the safety of all guests and Cast Members, guests must check in to Disney Resort hotels by September 28th by 3 pm at the absolute latest. All customary cancellation fees will be waived for anyone rescheduling or canceling trips due to this. Guests will be asked to shelter in place at their resort for the duration of the storm. This includes any resort-to-resort transfers. Dining options for guests in on-site resorts will vary, and in some cases may be very limited. Where available, restaurants will accept walk-ups only. Characters will not be available in character dining locations on Wednesday and Thursday Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and the Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will temporarily close Wednesday 9/28 through Friday 9/30 due to the weather. Disney is contacting guests with current and upcoming reservations. Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser voyages departing 9/27 and 9/29 have been cancelled. Dining, Enchanting Extras, and Special Events Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom has been cancelled for Thursday 9/29. Cancellation policies are postponed until further notice for dining and other experiences like Savi’s Workshop, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and VIP Tours. Performances of Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue have been cancelled for September 28-30. Guests with any pre-paid reservations will be automatically cancelled and refunded. Transportation Walt Disney World Transportation will stop operating Tuesday night after Disney Springs and the Walt Disney World theme parks close. Disney Springs & ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex will be closed 9/28 and 9/29. Disney Springs will be closed on Wednesday 9/28. It is anticipated that Disney Springs will be also be closed on Thursday 9/29. Drawn to Life presented by Cirque du Soleil & Disney will be cancelled on 9/28 & 9/29. Please note that all reopening timelines are tentative, and subject to safety conditions.
Universal Orlando Resort
Statement "Our theme parks, including CityWalk, will close on Wednesday, Sept. 28. We will remain closed Thursday and anticipate reopening on Friday, Sept. 30 as conditions permit." Hotels Hotels are currently at full capacity. They will remain operational as they focus on taking care of guests. Events Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida will be cancelled September 28 and 29. They anticipate reopening the event on Friday 9/30, conditions permitting. Please note that all reopening timelines are tentative, and subject to safety conditions.
Orlando International Airport
Statement "Flight operations have ceased due to Hurricane Ian. For specific flight information, please contact your airline." Flights Commercial operations at Orlando international Airport are on hold as of 10:30 a.m. on 9/28.
