All About People Eaters

7/28/2021

I shared about People Eaters as a "Travel Tip Tuesday" across social media yesterday, but  I got tons of questions and "aha" moments in my DMs, so I've decided to let this post live in blog infamy!
Picture
You’ve probably seen photos or videos of long lines at Disney parks. (And some of those lines look loooooooong, I know!) Many people want to blame those lines on the fact that FastPasses won't return. Really, though, there aren’t enough “People Eaters” around!

So what is a People Eater? (No, I don't mean the one-eyed, one-horned flying kind!) People Eaters are shows, meet & greets, offerings, etc. that would typically attract thousands of people daily. Since most People Eaters aren’t currently open, those crowds are all in ride queues.

Don’t let the lines scare you, though! Disney Cast Members are working hard to keep the lines running smoothly. During my last several trips, our wait times were actually shorter than what was listed most of the time.

See what I packed for a June 2021 trip here.

My clients all receive park touring tips to help beat the crowds and tour like a pro! I offer planning services for both clients who book through me, as well as clients who book on their own.

Early Park Admission Details Explained

7/1/2021

A few months ago, I shared the news about Walt Disney World's newest perk, Early Park Admission. Disney has released more details about that perk, and I'm here to break it all down for you.
Picture
Just in time for the 50th celebration, we finally have a start date for Disney's Early Park Admission! Beginning October 1st, Disney Resort hotel guests and guests of other select hotels, will have the first chance to enjoy select attractions at EVERY theme park, EVERY day. (I've explained why this is a way better perk than Extra Magic Hours here.)

One huge announcement is that
guests staying at a Deluxe or Deluxe Villa Disney Resort hotel will also be able to enjoy EXTENDED evening hours on select nights in select theme parks. (Think of this as the old Extra Magic Hours.) Extended evening hours will begin in early October.

For both of these options, select attractions, merchandise and food and beverage locations will be available. Please note that guests will need a valid ticket or pass and a theme park reservation for the same park on the same day to experience early theme park entry and, for select guests, extended evening hours. Or, guests may visit with a ticket or Annual Pass with the Park Hopper option as long as they entered their first park where they made their reservation earlier in the day.

If you're interested in booking a room at a Deluxe or Deluxe Villa Resort, contact me as soon as possible. This announcement will make these rooms very popular, so booking as far in advance as possible is highly recommended. My 2021 Resort Recommendations are listed here.

"Incredible" Rooms at Disney's Contemporary Resort

6/30/2021

Disney has released a first look at the re-imagined rooms at Disney's Contemporary Resort. As Walt Disney World prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary this October, Imagineering is tapping into that optimistic spirit once again in reimagining Disney’s Contemporary Resort, enhancing its retro-modern aesthetic that evokes Tomorrowland … with a dash of something Incredible, too.
Currently all nine floors of guest rooms in the tower are being completely refurbished. Rooms will blend a sleek Monorail motif with some favorite characters from Pixar Animation Studios’ Incredibles films.

As part of this reimagining, Disney is also updating the Guest lobby and check-in experience. Beginning July 16th, much of the first-floor lobby will be closed while it undergoes refurbishment. Once complete in late September, Contemporary’s lobby will feature an enhanced check-in experience with enhanced seating locations. Once the tower Guest rooms are complete, work will begin on the rooms inside the Garden Wing.

For booking information or details about the refurbishment, contact me.

Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will be the hosts for “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” and they’ll be decked out in sparkling new EARidescent fashions for the 50th anniversary. As you can see in the photo above, their best pals want to get in on the shimmer, too, as Donald Duck and Daisy Duck, Goofy and Pluto, and Chip ‘n’ Dale will be sporting their own custom-made EARidescent looks beginning Oct. 1. Guests will get a chance to see them when they travel through Magic Kingdom several times daily in the new “Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade.”

These eight friends will also be featured in special golden character sculptures debuting Oct. 1 at Magic Kingdom; in this artist rendering, you can see Mickey and Minnie shining in the sunlight near Cinderella Castle. There will be 50 characters total in this series of sculptures that will be displayed across all four theme parks. We’ll soon reveal more of the “Disney Fab 50” as excitement builds for the big day, as well as the surprising ways Guests will be able to interact with these beautiful sculptures as part of the 50th anniversary celebration.
